The Atlantic Highlands has a new addition. Gianni’s Italian Specialty Food at 71 First Avenue. On Saturday, August 3, 2013, had a grand opening at 2:00 PM. Mayor Frederick Rast III cut the ribbon that officially open the store. The store offers a wonderful array of Italian foods. There are fresh meats, cheeses, breads and cold cuts, prepared food and unique groceries that you can only get at a “real” Italian deli. In addition to the “store” section, they have a Pizzeria that offers signature sandwiches, panninis, wraps as well as artisan pizzas. Catering is available that includes party organizing, tent, table, chair, silverware and linen rentals, waiter and waitress services, bartender services, private chefs, BBQ services and much more…all delivered. Atlantic Highlands is a small Victorian town on the New Jersey shore overlooking lower New York Bay, with Manhattan in the distance. Its hills include the highest point on the eastern seaboard south of Maine.
Many of Atlantic Highlands’ Victorian homes have been preserved and restored, adding to the charm of small-town living and providing interesting walking tours in the historic district.
Atlantic Highlands is accessible by SeaStreak Fast Ferry leaving from Manhattans South Street Seaport and the 35th street pier as well as by car from the Garden State Parkway off ext 117. While visiting Atlantic Highlands plan to visit some local sights. Sandy Hook National Recreation Area is just 5 minutes from the town center as well as explore Mount Mitchall, the highest point on in the area. The area is also know for the Twin lighthouses
